Earth Day Coalition presents

The 20th Annual
Walk or Bike for the Earth


Healthy Planet, Healthy You:
Have some family-friendly fun and support Earth Day Coalition's year round environmental education, action and leadership programs in 2009 by walking 6 miles or biking to the zoo on Earth Day.

Participants get:
•Free admission to EarthFest 2009, Earth Day Coalition's 20th annual event at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Enjoy entertainment, a children's activity area and eco-friendly products and exhibitors, free trees, giveaways, the entire Zoo and The RainForest and more!
•Great earth-friendly snacks at a Walk or Bike for the Earth reception tent near the Zoo Amphitheater
•Membership to Earth Day Coalition for one year.

Plus, you can earn eco-friendly thank you prizes by raising pledges to support Earth Day Coalition;s environmental education programs for our community. Download a pledge sheet here. Thanks to Southwest Airlines for providing the grand prize of two round trip tickets for the person raising the most pledges.

Registration:
Minimum individual donation $20 on event da)
Family donation for 2 parents, 2 children $35 on event day
$8 kids 12 years of age and under

Do you have a Corporate Wellness Program at your workplace? Start a Green Team to Walk or Bike for the Earth as a group as part of your program. Download a flyer here.

Maps and More:
The Walk for the Earth's family-friendly route begins at the Hippo Lot behind The RainForest at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and ends at EarthFest 2009. Check in is between 7:00 am and 8:30 am. Walkers will step off promptly at 9:00 am on a six-mile route through Brookside Park and the Zoo. Download a Walk route here.

Want to do more for Climate Change Solutions: now you participate in the Bike for the Earth and ride your bike to EarthFest 2009. With support from the Ohio City Bicycle Co-op you can start your Earth Day ride near your home with expert help choosing the safest, most pleasant route to the zoo, along with sag service in case of break-downs, and a great group to ride with most of the way. Starting at 9:00 am you will depart in small groups on a scenic route to EarthFest from Dewey's on Shaker Square (registration starts at 8:00 am), Phoenix in Lakewood (registration starts at 8:00 am) or Phoenix Downtown (at 1300 W. 9th Street location - registration starts at 8:30 am).Bike starts at 9:00 am from all locations.
