One of the greatest Earth Day celebrations
on the planet took place right here in Northeast Ohio. EarthFest is Ohio's
largest environmental educational event and one of the longest standing
and most successful Earth Day events in the country. EarthFest 2008 was
a fun and educational event that offered an opportunity to learn about
the many environmental issues that face our community while enjoying the
backdrop of fun activities and great entertainment. The theme of EarthFest
was "Climate
Change Solutions." EarthFest 2008 was effectively wind powered
for the whole day! We partnered with Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, our terrific
sponsors, over 150 exhibitors and hundreds of volunteers to bring you
the latest in solutions to this important global concern. EarthFest 2008
had the following exhibits and display areas:
Local and Organic Food Area - Local farmers, foodstuffs
and business that allow you to contribute to your health and the health
of the land by choosing locally grown or organic foods (in the Zoo Auditorium)

Clean fuels, practices and technologies can reconnect our region while
reducing petroleum use and emissions (in the ZooGate Commons)

activities, crafts and entertainment (in the Primate, Cat and Aquatics

Eco Area-Non Profit Organizations: Featured environmental
exhibits and educational displays from scores of environmental education
organizations, community groups, government, parks and schools (in the
Palava Picnic Hut)
Green Home Improvement Area: Environmentally beneficial
products and practices from local entrepreneurs - displays and exhibits

Coalition is part of "Leap Into Action" (LIA), a regional initiative
of more than two dozen conservation and science-related organizations
in Northeast Ohio working together in 2008 to highlight amphibians and
their habitats through special events, activities, displays and programs
throughout the year. LIA's goals are to support and highlight regional
amphibian/wetland conservation efforts, raise awareness about the plight
of amphibians and promote real opportunities for the public to directly
support and get involved in amphibian and wetland conservation efforts
right here in Northeast Ohio. To get more information on what you can
